Psalm 119:105(KJV) Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Dear Saints of God, in our walk of faith, do we ever feel lost or directionless? I am sure we all go through this thought at some point of time. Apostle Paul reminds us in 1st Corinthians 9:24 we have to run a good race in order to win the prize. In other words if we are running in the opposite direction or in the wrong direction we will not win the prize. So it is mandatory to keep checking our direction through our God given navigation system whether we are heading in the right direction or not. His navigation system has two important devices
1) God’s word- The Bible
2) the voice of the Holy Spirit.
In order to navigate in the right direction, we have to develop a keen sense of hearing, the soft voice of the The Holy Spirit in and through our prayers, as it points out to us when we are going wrong or tells us in advance about the next turn or exit or the round about just like a modern GPS system does. On the other hand you have to have a sound knowledge of God’s route map by studying and meditating God’s word i,e The Bible. If we have these 2 qualities with us we can navigate through any situation in our life.
The psalmist calls the word of God as lamp unto the feet. If you use the lamp to walk in night it has range that you can see only your next step not beyond that, smilarly God’s word and His Holy Spirit will always talk about the next required step to achive the ultimate goal. God has worked out a detailed plan for us, our part is to take the next step as per God’s direction- Pr. Bakshi
