IT IS A LIE that’s brought by the enemy in our life and a lot of people are living under this false yoke for ages. This pattern of thought is a major barrier and stops us from receiving anything from God. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” The Lord says that he has plans to prosper us and give us hope and a future but still a lot of believers are living without hope for one reason that they don’t expect any great and good thing from God. The reason for such low levels of expectation is receiving a wrong word over their lives. Many times we are told by our parents, friends, teachers and our close loved ones that we are not good for anything and we receive it in our hearts that we are not good enough. We don’t have to fix our destiny on the basis of someone else’s view. What matters is the plan and purpose that God has for us.
The other set of people who think that they are not good enough are the ones , who base their relationship with God on their righteous acts and lifestyle. Romans 3:23 ’ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,’. In other words your righteous acts are not going to earn you brownie points with God. Our relationship with God is based upon God’s righteousness, His Grace and His never failing love for us. It is accomplished through the finish work of the cross which allows us an access to Him on basis of His merit not what we have done.
Moses was a great example of such a circumstance and when God encountered him in the burning bush (Exodus 3) we see how he tries to avoid being used of the Lord because he was not sure of anything in his life at that time. He was an adopted prince, a murderer and a runaway from Egypt. And after spending 40 years, tending the flock of his father-in- law in the desert may be he started to think that he was only good for a job of a shepherd. The thoughts and dreams of a better tomorrow were gone so far that it had no return ticket. But God had different plans for Moses, which He accomplished through him as we read in the Bible.
One of the basic foundations of a relationship is expectation which holds true in case of the relationship with God as well. Matthew 7:8 (a) For everyone who asks, receives. But the people who are in this wrong mindset ‘I am not good enough’ are reluctant to ask because of various reasons. I have good news for all such people. You are good enough to deserve every good thing, because God gave you His best gift in the form of His only son Jesus. If you were not loved, cherished and wanted by God, He would not give you the best gift. And through Jesus we are equal heirs and deserving recipients of every good thing. 2 Corinthians 1:20’ For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.’ If the promises are yes and amen, go and grab it because it’s for you. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Its time my friend to hush up that voice in your head that tells you that you are not good enough and robbing you of your rightful place. It’s time to change your thought process and your behavioral patterns through Christ. You can come out of any sin and live a free life through Christ. You are good enough to receive every promise that is spoken for you in the Bible.
