Psalm 5: 3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
Dear friends, let me ask you a question – how do you start your day? What is the first thing that you do in the morning? What is the first thought that crosses your mind the moment you open your eyes. The things that drive us determine who we really are.
This is one of the psalms written by king David, when he wasn’t crowned king yet. He was persecuted, mocked, lied about and pursued by his enemies. He was on the run although he was anointed by God for becoming the king of Israel and all the promises he had received seemed beyond possibility. In between all this anguish he did not forget to engage with God everyday. The first thing he did was speak to God. God is interested in our day to day affairs and wants to be a part of everything we do everyday. When we go through trials and testing situations we forget about HIM as if He is absent. The key to victory is to engage with HIM everyday. As you read the rest of the psalm you will read about the joy of the righteous.
Somebody once said part time christians cannot defeat a full time devil. We cannot just rely on our Sunday experience to sustain a victorious week . To lead a victorious life we need to carry on the Sunday experience to the rest of the six days of the week. Its true that every day will present its unique challenge, at the same time every day we can get from God the required anointing, wisdom and grace to go through those challenges. We serve a living God who is full of love and zeal for us. He is interested to meet with you and hear you every second of every day . People around you may not be interested in hearing you all the time but God is. Spend quality and alone time with God every morning. Have a victorious day- Pr. T. Bakshi
